Medical Outreaches

Upper Egypt – During the months of May and June Think and Do held 12 medical outreaches. During these outreaches they hosted 2 spiritual days for almost 400 patients, and carried out over 200 check-ups and tests in addition to more than 60 operations in our mobile clinic. We also did many sight tests and distributed eyeglasses. There is a great need for such medical outreaches and therefore our mobile clinics are a great benefit, because with these mobile units we can move easily from village to village and serve a much wider community. Orphan's Conference
Orphans' Conference
Upper Egypt – Think and Do organised a conference for orphans from Upper Egypt in June. They arranged games and dramatic presentations to entertain the children, and they also led the children in a time of worship and prayer. Last but not least, Think and Do offered them meals and clothes and other gifts. 275 children attended the conference.

Many encouraging stories could be told, but we should like to share one with you: there was a 17-year-old girl who had been raped, and became pregnant as a result. Her father wants to take her life, because he sees the rape as a curse for his family. The young woman had to flee from home and found refuge at the conference, where she was able to experience the love of Christ. She is now staying in a safe place in order to give birth to her baby. Prescool in Upper Egypt
Preschool opening in Upper Egypt

Upper Egypt – Think and Do cooperated with a church to establish a new nursery, and celebrated the opening in June. It is hosted in the church’s facilities in a village in Upper Egypt. The preschool is staffed by 4 female teachers and one manager (also a woman), and hosts around 40 children.

We should like to share a testimony of a boy called Martin, who had a tendency to refuse everything. He had no friends, did not want to pray or sing and was saying bad words. Then during the time in the preschool he learned to say “Good Morning” and “Thank you”, and he now has friends and is sharing in singing and memorizing Bible verses. His parents are very happy about the change in him. (June 2010)
